Mui Ne is the tourism center in Phan Thiet and was recognized as the National Tourism Area in Vietnam. Mui Ne in the past was a desolate coastal land with some poor fishing villages. Nowadays Mui Ne is on development with hundreds of resort mushrooming. Mui Ne is connected to Phan Thiet city by Nguyen Dinh Chieu Road (Road 706), which is the essential route for tourism in Binh Thuan province.

Mui Ne is most famous for sand dunes and beaches. Standing out from those is the colorful sand dunes near Hon Rom. The sand dunes are also called Flying Sand Dunes as the shape of the dunes changes day by day due to wind blowing off the upper layer and rock erosion. They found up to 18 colors within the dunes. Yet, there are 3 main large sand dunes which are White Sand Dune, Red Sand Dune and Golden Sand Dune.

In the middle of these sand dunes, there is a beautiful lake called Bau Trang (White Lake). Bau Trang is actually the common name for 2 smaller lakes that used to be one until local people made a sand dam over the lake for transportation. The bigger lake called Bau Ba (Woman Lake) is about 19 m deep in rain season. It is grown with lotus around, which makes it a marvelous oasis in the arid desert.

Suoi Tien (Fairy Stream) is also considered a beautiful lady lying right in the desert. It is a small long stream near Hon Rom flowing behind the burning red hill. The route to the headwater of the stream is adventurous because of the up and down narrow path with rocks around. If people are not clever enough, they will easily slide down the rough slope of the hill. Nevertheless, the rocks and the cliffs themselves make this place look like an unreachable and spectacular citadel in the sunset.

On the other bank of the stream is bamboos growing in bushes These bamboo bushes not only make the scenery more picturesque but also play as the protection from sand erosion. Walking a long way from the start point, tourists can find out an area that local people raise ostrich. They made a playground for curious tourists who want to try riding the ostrich. If anyone try once, they will find it fantastic. At the beginning of the stream is a small but pure clear waterfall. It is surrounded by the rough black rocks that can challenge anyone who dares to reach the falling-down water.

Hon Rom is a small mountain with area of 17 km2, which is less touristy and quieter than the main area. It remains the primitive beach and landscape that have not been employed for tourist constructions yet. The ocean here is calm and pure. It is the perfect place to see dawn, sunset and enjoy fire camping.

Mui Ne is seemingly even more famous for its long, blue and clear beach. The sand is white and soft, the sea water is blue and pure, the sun shines almost everyday and the climate is ideal for beach sports. Especially, the waves are strong enough for adventure-taking tourists to join board surfing, wind surfing, parachute sailing, etc. Thanks to its blessed natural conditions, Mui Ne beach attract millions of tourists from Europe, especially Russia.

Accordingly with increasing travelers, the seashore is conquered by hundreds of resorts, bungalows, hotels and hostels. Tourists can find any kind of accommodation in their like and budget. The food and beverage are also in wide selection; seafood certainly is the best choice. Apart from enjoying meals in restaurants along the beach in daytime, tourists can also enjoy night barbecue stalls along the main road of the coast. Dining with seafood barbecue with sea breeze and coco-juice are truly the fascinating experience.

Although the developing tourism make local people join and take their job in providing tourist services, some villages still keep their tradition of fishing. Visiting the fishing villages and explore angler’s daily life has become another attraction of this place. On the seashore in front of each fishing village, people can see hundreds of fishing boats with similar design and decoration. These boats appearing in the sunset make a stunning picture that inspires many photographers to catch the moment.
